This position involved assisting the lead designer of an interior design business with administration and client/supplier relations, as well as creating presentations of furniture and fabric designs. This has given me insight into a creative industry and helped me develop a good sense of aesthetics.

During my BSc Honours year I was involved in providing mentorship for first-year undergraduate Genetics students. This involved assisting with lab demonstrations, answering student's questions, and explaining difficult concepts. This helped me hone my communication skills and ability to work with other people.

This was a part-time position taken on during my later high-school and early university days. It gave me an introduction to the working world and some experience with sales and basic business administration.

I am currently busy with this coding bootcamp that covers the fundamentals of coding as well as the tools required for getting started with frontend web development. These include the essentials - HTML, CSS, and JavaScript - along with an introduction to Node, Vue, Nuxt.js, GraphQL, Git and Netlify.

A research-based degree focussed on the understanding the effect of HIV infection on gene expression in immune system cells. Project title: Transcriptional analysis of the host cell response to HIV-1 infection in CD4+ T lymphocytes and macrophages. Supervisor: Prof. Michael Pepper. Completed with distinction.

A combined research/coursework degree. My research project component was focussed on analysis of chromosome numbers in agriculturally relevant fungal plant pathogens. Project title: Analysis of chromosome number and size variation in Ceratocystis species by electrophoretic karyotyping. Supervisor: Prof. Brenda Wingfield. Completed with distinction.

My undergraduate BSc Genetics course included a diverse array of subjects relating to genetics, biochemistry, microbiology, zoology, and plant science. Completed with distinctions in all subjects.

Subjects: Mathematics, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, English Home Language, Afrikaans First Additional Language, Geography, Life Orientation, Mathematics Paper 3, Advanced Programme Mathematics. Achieved 8 distinctions.
